Ban Caller-ID Spoofing?
That blind kid that got himself sent to prison for “swatting” has renewed the debate over caller-ID spoofing. My question is this…what is a legitimate use for caller-ID spoofing? Can anyone think of a legit use?
Two years ago I wrote a post scoffing at members of Congress who were pushing legislation to outlaw caller-ID spoofing. I was wrong; they were right. People who abuse caller-ID need to know they’re breaking the law.
