Bonetrail & Skulltrail
Intel’s new Bonetrail & Skulltrail boards are out for blood.
Intel is looking to break benchmark records with its new Skulltrail platform. Skulltrail, and its less expensive, X38-based, counter-part Bonetrail, are the new enthusiast boards from Intel. These successors of the Badaxe series of motherboards are looking to raise the bar in processing power, raw speed and performance. The Skulltrail, however, isn’t based on the LGA-775 socket like the Bonetrail. It’s using the Xeon-based LGA-771 Dual-socket, supports 1600Mhz FSB CPU’s, DDR3 DIMMs and Intel’s SMP Technology. Bundle that with the Intel QX9775, and consider the bar rose.
